As one of the most important features that every customer looks for in their new car, fuel efficiency is the future. Nissan is already looking ahead with the Nissan Ellure Hybrid concept.
Not only is the Ellure visually captivating, but it keeps you far away from the fuel pump with an advanced hybrid engine. The Ellure features a supercharged 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that partners with a 25 kW electric motor with an advanced lithium-ion battery. This powerful engine combo gets up to 273 horsepower and features an electric mode that turns off the gas portion for increased productivity.
Although it’s still just a concept and not currently in production, the Ellure spells out a promising future for Nissan hybrid vehicles. Who knows, maybe one day we’ll even see a Nissan hybrid SUV?
Up next is a compact electric car that’s comparable to some of the best hybrid cars. With zero emissions (and zero stops at the gas station) the 2016 Nissan Leaf embodies energy saving down to every detail.
When equipped with the 30 kWh rechargeable battery, the Leaf can achieve an impressive 107-mile range, and various design elements work to further increase efficiency. Everything from the aerodynamic body design to the available LED low-beam headlights helps the Leaf use less energy than traditional cars.
