Not all truck drivers are cut from the same mold. Pickup trucks have a variety of uses and a particular type of driver to fit each one. Nissan kept this diversity in mind when designing its 2018 lineup of Nissan trucks, which includes the Frontier, Titan, and Titan XD.

Let’s take a look at all three models to see which is the best Nissan truck for each type of consumer.

Nissan Trucks: A Comparison

Frontier

The 2018 Nissan Frontier, one of the Nissan trucks.

The 2018 Nissan Frontier is your no-frills pickup truck that stresses substance over style and function over form. The Frontier is smaller in stature than other Nissan trucks, and the lighter curb weight combined with a narrower wheelbase makes for easy driveability. Frontier owners will enjoy driving a pickup without some of the cornering and parking hassles that can accompany larger trucks.

Despite the smaller stature, the Frontier still finds room to seat four people, and the 50/50 rear-seat folding allows for additional cargo space.

The new Nissan Frontier is for sale as the most affordable new Nissan truck and the one with the best gas mileage to boot.

Titan

The 2017 Nissan Titan, one of the Nissan trucks.

The 2017 Nissan Titan provides a features upgrade from the Frontier with things like keyless entry, push-button start, power windows, MP3 capability, an LCD monitor, and more. But the upgrade isn’t limited to just bells and whistles.

The Titan is a bigger, stronger truck that can generate 390 horsepower (compared to 152 in the Frontier) and 394 lb.-ft. of torque from a V8 engine. The taller, longer, and wider cargo bed means there’s more room for anything you need to haul, and the bigger wheels and added engine power means a more efficient way of getting it there.

The new Nissan Titan comes for sale having been named the 2017 MotorWeek Driver’s Choice Award winner for “Best Pickup Truck.” This award comes from a buyer’s point of view with an emphasis on value and reliability.

Titan XD

The 2017 Nissan Titan XD, one of the Nissan trucks.

Nissan knows that even the heavy duty Titan isn’t truck enough for some jobs. And that’s the reason the new Nissan Titan XD is for sale.

The 2017 Titan XD runs on diesel fuel, and despite being only slightly larger than the Titan and carrying the same horsepower and torque capabilities, it boasts a maximum towing capacity of up to 12,640 lbs. – a significant jump from the Titan’s already-impressive 9,740 lbs. of capacity.

The Titan XD also features some components found on commercial trucks such as heavy duty 14” brakes. This pickup is a workhorse designed for the biggest, toughest, and most demanding workload.
